Q

You were great tonight! Too crowded around your table to get to talk to you, but thanks for a most enjoyable evening. Harriett, Sioux City

A

You are very welcome, thanks so much for coming! :)

Q

No question, just glad y'all are coming to Texas.

The Gothard Sisters responded on 01/29/2013
A

We are too!

Q

Performing at the Celtic Fling this year? Thanks for the music!

The Gothard Sisters responded on 01/29/2013
A

Unfortunately, no we will not be at the Celtic Fling this year. They decided to switch up the entertainment a bit so we will be taking the year off.

Q

Dear Greta, Solana, & Willow,

Slainte! Will you be touring in Ohio (Guysville) soon?!

Your fan,
Noah O'hOgain

The Gothard Sisters responded on 09/25/2012
A

Hello Noah!
We definitely hope to tour Ohio in the future! Do you have any festivals or events you would suggest around your area? :)

Q

Do you always perform as a group or do any of you have solo gigs?

The Gothard Sisters responded on 09/25/2012
A

We usually perform as a group for most all of our shows. :) Thanks for your question!

Q

Love your music. I just turned 60 this year and purchased my first Bodhran to learn to play with our local Celtic jam sessions in Michigan. Keep playing those songs.

The Gothard Sisters responded on 09/25/2012
A

Thank you so much! That is wonderful that you are learning how to play the bodhran; keep it up! :)

Q

Solana has an absolutely beautiful voice, and the three of you all harmonize beautifully. As much as I love the instrumental aspect, do you plan to make more songs that showcase your singing ability?

The Gothard Sisters responded on 09/25/2012
A

Thank you!
We are continuing to work on vocals as a large part of our show, and hope to add more in the future. Thanks for the encouragement! :)

Q

How long have you been performing professionally together? Enjoyed you show in La Grande, Oregon on August 25th.

The Gothard Sisters responded on 09/25/2012
A

Thank you! :)
We have been performing for about 6 to 7 years now, in answer to your question!

Q

The ability to go on pointe for some of your numbers has always been fascinating since you do not wear conventional "pointe shoes". How is this done; did you have to study ballet?

The Gothard Sisters responded on 09/25/2012
A

Thank you for your question! Our dance shoes have a flat section by the toe which enables us to stand on point without "ballet shoes." It can be quite difficult at first, but is not unusual in Irish Dancing. :)

Q

What is the farthest away place from Edmunds that you have performed as the Gothard Sisters in both music and dance?

The Gothard Sisters responded on 09/25/2012
A

The farthest we have performed away from home now is probably either Alaska for the State Fair, or Florida for the annual march Strawberry Festival! Thanks for your question! :)
